Two years ago...

Two years ago today, I was admitted to the hospital for complete placenta previa and contractions, five weeks before my due date. I was put on hospital bedrest, given an IV, not allowed to eat or drink anything, and stayed that way in my hospital bed overnight.

Two years ago tomorrow morning, I was prepped for an emergency c-section. Marion was born at 11:06 am, weighing 6 lbs 8 oz and 20 1/4 inches long, five weeks early. Thank goodness I didn't go full term!

Where has the time gone???

Happy Birthday sweet, stubborn, funny, adventurous little girl!

All of the ways to get rid of your stuff

We continue to get things in order. We sold our patio set this weekend to a nice couple from Annapolis. I hope they enjoy it! We have several appointments this week with people interested in Brian's Mr. Incredible car. Yep, we are selling the little red focus.

We are also starting to gear up for yard sale #2, currently planned for May 17th. Since our last yard sale I have been introduced to a little thing called Freecycle. This is a fabulous thing. Basically it is a online group similar to Craigslist, but everything is free. So if we have, say, a pile of scrap wood from our deck, used bottles of cleaning products, or used body lotion, we can post about it to this group, get emails from interested people, and then pick someone to come pick it up. I just leave it on our porch when I leave for the day and *POOF!*, it's gone when I return home from work.

Between the yard sale, Craigslist, and Freecycle, I should be able to unload most of our stuff without ever leaving our house. Awesome, right? Well, it's the little things. :-)

The Final Countdown

I recently realized how obnoxious a "Only # weeks left!" post every Sunday would get. Very annoying, probably fairly fast. So here's the countdown:

Only that much time left until we leave on a jetplane!

7 weeks

In 7 weeks we will be in Zurich. Amazing how time flies, huh?

We are still chugging along with things in the meantime. We've finished all the items from our home inspection and continue to pack. So unfortunately, no big news to report.

Well, no big news other than we will be in Zurich in only 7 weeks!

Breaking news: I got a new camera!

So, for something completely off topic, I got a new camera!!!! Hopefully this helps with the picturing taking issues I had in the past. I've snapped the following picures since getting the camera. I'm so excited!

Not much to report

We are just chugging along, getting prepared for our June 1 departure date. In the last few weeks we have:

- contacted movers
- packed some things up
- finished our deck and other things from the home inspection
- set up settlement
- set up forwarding our mail
- and started on the process of collecting medical records and canceling various accounts.

We also found time to go to Vegas last weekend. What a great time!

The canceling accounts and medical record process has been surprisingly pleasant. If anyone gives me a hard time or questions why we are doing things, all I have to say is, "Well, we are moving to Switzerland." That usually ends the conversation. :-)
